Statement from the Chairperson
The ultimate objective of the Namibia Ignored Freedom Fighters Association (NIFFA) is mainly to improve and sustain the living standard and social wellbeing of members through sustainable management of natural resources. Namibia is a resourceful country with both land, water, and wind but there is a massive skew distribution of these resources to benefit its people. There is a lack of appreciation and beneficiation from its primary extractive natural resources, a practice that deprives the citizen’s real wealth and value of their resources. It is believed to exist an extensive lack of proper policies to address real problems facing the people both at the grassroots and national levels. Some policies are deemed to be obsolete and remain irrelevant to dealing with current challenges. This phenomenon resulted in a high level of unemployment and widespread discontentment across the spectrum of Youth.
Though government had made deliberate efforts to invest heavily on education system, there was a visible significant reduction of graduates and an increase on teenage pregnancies in the country. The rampage escalation of social challenges facing the youth was brought about by social problems and associated risks such as poverty, unemployment, crime, corruption, and a sense of social insecurity.
The education system failed to train quality graduates required to drive the economy in terms of job creation and perform productively in the job market. The education system lacked the capacity to transform students from job seekers to job creators.
As part of our mandate to address the plight of economically active people in the country, we are advocating for a paradigm shift to help speed up the process of economic transformation and independence, the task we shall play an active and systematic role in accomplishing. We place our emphasis on prudent natural resources management, strengthening of good governance, and increased level of accountability to all stakeholders.
We shall help our members to identify excellent investors and help their businesses to cross-pollinate with their local and international players in pursuit of increased competitiveness. Individual members’ potential identification and capacity development and financing on viable projects will be considered, evaluated, strengthened, and monitored to ensure sustainable economic development. To this end, NIFFA’s objective to improve the social well-being of its members provides substantial benefits to the government in terms of complementing its efforts to job creation, education and training, and sustainable development.
Our Vision
To be a capable Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) working for social justice and economic transformation.
Mission Statement
NIFFA is a newly founded association aiming at improving the living standards of Namibians who are less privileged in terms of economic access through training, financial assistance, and providing access to basic infrastructure and services.
